ROMAPLP®Soybean lecithin Health Benefits:
ROMAPLP®Soybean lecithin is a mixture of natural phospholipids extracted from soybeans. It consists of multiple components, including phosphatidylcholine (lecithin), phosphatidylethanolamine (cerebroside), and phosphatidylinositol. These phospholipids have nutritional and functional properties, making them widely used in the food, pharmaceutical, and feed industries.

▶ Regulate lipid metabolism and protects cardiovascular health
ROMAPLP®Soybean lecithin Applications:
Phosphatidylcholine (PC) promotes the emulsification and transport of cholesterol and fatty acids. This helps the liver metabolize excess cholesterol and reduces the accumulation of low-density lipoprotein (LDL, or "bad cholesterol") in the blood. At the same time, it increases the levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL, or "good cholesterol"), thereby lowering the risk of atherosclerosis, hyperlipidemia, and hypertension. ROMAPLP®Soybean lecithin reduces blood viscosity, decreases the likelihood of blood clot formation, protects vascular elasticity, and helps prevent cardiovascular diseases, such as coronary heart disease and cerebral infarction.
■ Source
In 1844, the French scientist Grassi first discovered lecithin in egg yolks. It wasn't until the 1930s that lecithin was discovered in soybeans and successfully extracted. The United States has been using lecithin in health foods since the 1970s. In the 1980s, China began researching the refining process for medicinal soybean lecithin.
ROMAPLP®Soybean lecithin is a natural byproduct of soybean oil processing. It is primarily extracted from the "oil cake" containing 30%-50% phospholipids produced during the refining of crude soybean oil. After hydration and centrifugal separation, crude phospholipids are obtained and dried under vacuum to remove moisture. Further refinement processes, such as solvent extraction (e.g., acetone degreasing) and decoloration, may be applied to produce soybean phospholipid products of varying purity, including liquid and powdered phospholipids.
ROMAPLP®Soybean lecithin is available in the following specification and contents:
☑ ROMAPLP®Soybean lecithin liquid 60% (Primary colour, Concentrated, Modified, Bleached, Water soluble)
ROMAPLP®Soybean lecithin is a commonly used natural additive in the food industry, primarily serving as an emulsifier, stabiliser, release agent, and nutritional enhancer. When added to baked goods, it improves dough extensibility, resulting in a softer texture in the final product, while also delaying hardening and extending shelf life. In dairy products, it stabilises the emulsion system, preventing fat separation or layering, and enhances the smoothness of the texture. As an emulsifier in margarine and shortening, it helps fats and water mix evenly, enhancing product stability. In vegetable oil refining, it removes impurities and improves oil quality. As a nutritional fortifier, ROMAPLP® Soybean Lecithin is added to infant formula, functional beverages, and protein powders to supplement essential phospholipid components, particularly suitable for populations requiring support for brain development.
The biocompatibility and physiological activity of ROMAPLP®Soybean lecithin make it highly useful in the medical field. It can serve as the primary raw material for liposomes that encapsulate water- or lipid-soluble drugs, such as anticancer drugs and antibiotics. This enhances the drugs' stability and targeting while reducing side effects. For example, doxorubicin liposomes reduce cardiac toxicity. In formulations such as injections, oral solutions, and ointments, soybean lecithin functions as an emulsifier, solubilizer, or dispersant. It helps drug components disperse uniformly and improves absorption efficiency. Soybean lecithin can also be formulated into phospholipid capsules or tablets as dietary supplements to improve lipid profiles, protect the liver, and enhance memory. These supplements are suitable for populations at risk of hyperlipidemia, fatty liver disease, or Alzheimer's disease. When added to wound dressings, soybean lecithin promotes skin cell repair and accelerates wound healing.
ROMAPLP®Soybean lecithin provides animals with energy and essential nutrients, and improves the nutritional value and physical properties of feed. When added to livestock and poultry feed, soybean lecithin enhances palatability and digestibility, promotes growth and development, and improves meat quality. In aquatic feed, soybean lecithin serves as an emulsifier and nutrient supplement. It aids in the absorption of fats and fat-soluble vitamins, promotes the growth of aquatic animals, and reduces feed loss in water while minimizing water pollution. Soybean lecithin can also be used in cat and dog food to improve coat luster, reduce shedding, and support brain health, thereby enhancing pet vitality.
■ Nutritional components
ROMAPLP®Soybean lecithin is a complex mixture of various phospholipids. Its core components include phosphatidylcholine (PC), which accounts for 20% to 30% of the mixture. Phosphatidylcholine is a key component of cell membranes and plays a role in emulsification and regulating lipid metabolism. Phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) accounts for 15% to 25% and is involved in cellular signaling and fat transport. Phosphatidylinositol (PI), which accounts for 10% to 20%, is associated with cellular metabolism and signal transduction. ROMAPLP®Soybean lecithin also contains small amounts of phospholipids, glycolipids, neutral oils, and antioxidant components, such as vitamin E.
ROMAPLP®Soybean lecithin is an essential material for the liver to synthesize lipoproteins. They help transport excess fat (triglycerides) out of the liver, preventing fat accumulation in liver cells and improving and preventing fatty liver disease. Soy lecithin promotes liver cell regeneration and repair, enhances the liver's detoxification function, and provides some protection against liver damage caused by long-term alcohol consumption, high-fat diets, or medication.
▶ Protect the liver and promote liver cell repair
Ingredients:
● Soybean lecithin and does not contain any other additives.
ROMAPLP®Soybean lecithin contains the essential components of nerve myelin and cell membranes. It helps maintain nerve cell integrity and ensures normal nerve signal transmission. Phosphatidylcholine is a precursor to the synthesis of acetylcholine, an important neurotransmitter involved in memory and learning processes, in the brain. Taking soy phospholipid supplements can increase acetylcholine levels in the brain, improve memory, and potentially prevent Alzheimer's disease in the elderly.
▶ Nourish the nervous system and enhance brain function
