Xenoluna®Whey protein isolate Health Benefits:
Xenoluna®Whey protein isolate is a high-purity protein extracted from cow's milk. It is obtained through a process based on whey protein concentrate with a protein content of at least 90%. Originally a liquid byproduct of cheese production, a series of processes removes most of the sugar, fat, and other impurities, resulting in a high-quality, protein-rich isolate.
■ Source
Xenoluna®Whey protein isolate comes from the whey in milk. Milk is about 87 percent water and 13 percent solids. The solids include casein (about 80 percent) and whey protein (about 20 percent). When milk is used to make cheese, the casein coagulates and precipitates. The remaining liquid is whey, which is filtered, concentrated, separated and processed to give isolated whey protein.

▶ Reduce allergy risk and protect sensitive intestine
Xenoluna®Whey protein isolate Applications:
Xenoluna®Whey protein isolate can be used as the main protein source in infant formulas, providing high-quality protein and optimizing amino acid composition to promote basal growth. Whey protein isolate is suitable for hypoallergenic/anti-allergenic formulas, in which the protein is broken down into small peptide fragments by an enzymatic process. This significantly reduces antigenicity to prevent or alleviate cow's milk protein allergy. The high protein content and digestibility of whey protein isolate support rapid growth in preterm and catch-up formulas while protecting the immature kidneys due to its low osmolality. Xenoluna®Whey protein isolate can be used as a food additive in infant rice powder and high-protein supplements to enhance protein content and absorption efficiency, particularly during the transition to complementary foods.
Xenoluna®Whey protein isolate is highly similar to breast milk in its amino acid composition. It contains nine essential amino acids and has a protein digestibility-corrected amino acid score (PDCAAS) of 1.0. whey protein isolate is nearly 100% absorbed by infants and can promote muscle, organ, and nervous system development.
Xenoluna®Whey protein isolate removes allergens, such as β-lactoglobulin, through a membrane filtration and ion exchange process. This process reduces antigenicity by more than 80%, making whey protein isolate especially suitable for infants with a family history of allergies and people with sensitive bodies. The low lactose (≤0.5%) and low fat (≤1%) content can prevent diarrhea caused by lactose intolerance and reduce the burden on the intestines.
▶ Enhancement of immunity and metabolic regulation
Xenoluna®Whey protein isolate retains active ingredients, including lactoferrin and immunoglobulins (IgG/IgA). Lactoferrin promotes iron absorption and inhibits germs, while immunoglobulins build an intestinal immune barrier and reduce the risk of infection. Due to its low electrolyte content, the osmolality of whey protein isolate is similar to that of breast milk, which avoids putting a strain on an infant's kidneys.
■ Nutritional Value
Xenoluna®Whey protein isolate contains nine essential amino acids and is highly similar in composition to breast milk protein. Its amino acid content, especially that of essential amino acids such as lysine and tryptophan, is rich. These amino acids can be absorbed and utilized by infants almost completely, which is better than soybean protein and other plant-based proteins. Whey protein isolate has a smaller molecular structure and is less antigenic after processing. It forms a finer, softer clot in the acidic environment of an infant's stomach. This is suitable for infants with underdeveloped digestive systems, as it can reduce digestive discomfort, such as bloating and diarrhea. The natural active substances in whey, such as lactoferrin, immunoglobulins (IgG and IgA), and growth factors (e.g., IGF-1), are retained.
Xenoluna®Whey protein isolate is available in the following specification and contents:
■ Production technology description
Xenoluna®Whey protein isolate is derived from whey, a byproduct of cheese production. First, the whey is centrifuged to remove residual casein and fat. Then, the pH and temperature of the whey solution are adjusted to precipitate some of the proteins and remove impurities. High-purity proteins are then separated by membrane filtration (MF/UF/RO/Ion Exchange Chromatography), and the concentrated whey protein solution is spray-dried to form homogeneous protein powder particles. Most of the lactose is removed during production to prevent diarrhea in lactose-intolerant infants. Meanwhile, the fat content is extremely low, which aligns with infants' dietary needs. Compared to ordinary whey protein, whey protein isolate can remove more allergens through a further purification process, which reduces the risk of allergies in infants. It is especially suitable for infants at high risk for allergies.
